In order to reap a great harvest and have abundance in our lives we have to start with sowing the right seeds, using the right tools and having the right knowledge with the patience to succeed.
I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). Anyone who has ever struggled for any period with their finances knows the pain and anguish associated with this. The information contained in this book is intended for anyone who has ever gone through a loss, be it financial or otherwise, as this can sometimes lead us down a path of insecurity and lack. It is important to recognize that the Lord never intended for man to stay in a position of lack and “barely enough”, or to have that mindset. In the scripture it says, “faith without works is dead” (James 2:14-26), which means if we believe, then by going towards what we believe in and taking the necessary actions, will enable us to achieve whatever it is that we are believing for. It is my hope that the tips and tools provided will prove useful. Declare that now is the time to have a fresh thinking, that is a renewal of our mind, in order to be fully set free and live a life of abundance. It is not enough to just wish for financial freedom. We must equip ourselves with the right knowledge, strategies, and tools to make it happen. In order to have an abundant life and live in prosperity, we must first have the right mindset, or way of thinking. The Bible further explains that “as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7). This shows the importance that visualization has on a person’s success. If we can see ourselves as being successful, then according to the Word of God we will be successful! It is said that whatever we focus on grows, which means that whatever we give a great amount of thought to, combined with the necessary step, that is action, will eventually materialize or manifest in our lives. In my many years of experience, I have observed that the people who appear to have found true financial freedom and who are wealthy tend to think and operate differently. Wealthy people usually tend to operate from a prosperity mindset and closely follow and live by a certain set of rules and guidelines. I also recognized early in my work life that any time I found myself struggling in any area of my finances, or knew of someone who was, that it was usually due to a failure to follow the guidelines based on biblical principles. There is a correlation between accumulating wealth and recognizing the ultimate source of that wealth. It is through the promises of God that we are able to acquire the riches of the earth according to the scripture “but thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant, which he [swore] unto thy fathers, as it is this day” (Deuteronomy 8:18).After making the decision one day that enough was enough, I focused on being financially successful and helping other professional women or couples to not just survive by living paycheck to paycheck but to thrive and be financially free. It is my intention to help others to identify and focus on certain key areas, as well as provide simple steps and directions, which I believe can be easily followed and implemented as a part of a sound financial plan. These steps include how to come up with a savings plan and successfully save towards our financial goals; how to cope after being laid off; as well as some critical conversations we all need to have in order to know where we stand financially and how to communicate that to our loved ones accordingly; the benefits of having protection and why it is an important part of any successful financial plan; useful money management tips; and last but by no means least, how to retire successfully. Ultimately it is my hope that this guide will show that our destiny is tied to our finances. It is very prudent to use every available resource provided to our advantage, along with prayer, and guidance from a trained and competent professional to secure a successful financial future. It is my belief that true financial freedom is where we have the ultimate control over our fears and anxieties in relation to money. If we are to have financial success, we must be willing to face our fears and have the courage to ask or seek out assistance from the right people. Once we follow the steps shared in the chapters following, I believe we will be well on our way to achieving a life of abundance and by extension, financial success, and freedom.1.
